California Mosaics celebrates a diverse cross-section of two and three-dimensional mosaic works made by artists currently living or working in California. This exhibition will focus on the rich tradition of mosaics through the creative eye's of contemporary artists originating from around the world, working in mosaic medias such as ceramic tile, stone, glass and mixed medias.
Breaking the boundaries of what is currently popular in contemporary American Mosaics, California Mosaics, A Celebration of California's Diversity in Mosaic, urges the viewer to look beyond predictable subject matter and technique and into a window of possibility in form, function and surface embellishment..
